30 Days of Gratitude – Day 3
I’m back today… feeling all grateful… even though my hip hurts from *extreme* stretching because apparently I’m an old lady (and I’m sitting on a heating pad…) Lame. But, grateful nonetheless! Day 3, here I come!
3. What color are you grateful for?
A: This is an interesting question, really. I mean, being grateful for colors requires sight, and I am definitely grateful for my sight. I’m a very visual person, and I can’t even imagine not being able to see.
What’s also funny is that my husband has always told me how crazy I am because I never saw things in the same color as he did. I just assumed that, as a woman, perhaps I was seeing things in a wider range of color (Y’know, like 6 shades of blue instead of 2. Yes, cerulean is a color.) Turns out I’m just plain colorblind. More specifically, I have mild deuteranomaly. According to Enchroma, it’s ‘a type of red-green color blindness in which the green cones do not detect enough green and are too sensitive to yellows, oranges, and reds. As a result, greens, yellows, oranges, reds, and browns may appear similar, especially in low light. It can also be difficult to tell the difference between blues and purples, or pinks and grays.‘ Maybe that’s why I can’t stand low light, and instead opt for lights that are like alternate suns that are probably burning my retinas and killing my sight anyway.
ANYWAY. That being said, I absolutely love rose gold. I want rose gold everything! I don’t care if that color is on its way out as far as trends go, it’s still gorgeous to me! I want rose gold rings, and watches, and earrings, and handbags, and shoes, and home decor, etc.
And you? What colors are you grateful for? Maybe it’s the color of the sky before sunset, or the blue of your child’s eyes, or your favorite shade of nail polish. Maybe you just like green because it’s the color of avocados. Let me know!
