30 Days of Gratitude – Day 6
Whoops! I forgot to post yesterday! It was a day full of college football, food, and friends. I got caught up in the good times and let my day pass me by. I figure it’s okay though, because I don’t want to feel guilty for not blogging every day if I can’t get to it. Otherwise, I will probably end up hating it.
Today’s gratitude question is:
6. What in nature are you grateful for?
A: The easier question would be what I’m not grateful for. Nature is like my religion. I believe in the healing properties of it. As a kid, I would take walks in the woods on my own, or with my friends, and just feel at peace. I still feel that same serenity as an adult.
I’ve always felt a strong connection to every living thing, big or small. My dad likes to tell stories about how I would pick up ants, kiss them, and place them gently back on the ground. I get odd looks from people who see me using my bug vacuum to capture bugs inside my house, and put them back outside. I just don’t like to kill anything that I find so interesting! The things that others might detest in nature like bugs, snakes, spiders, worms, frogs… I love seeing them, and I never tire of them. Maybe I missed my calling as a naturalist? Or maybe I still have time. The universe will let me know!
Are you grateful for any specific thing in nature?
