30 Days of Gratitude – Day 9
9. What place are you most grateful for?
A: The first day of Fall is in 5 days, and I miss home.
When I say ‘home,’ I mean Michigan. I was born and raised in there, and it will always be home to me. Fall is so beautiful in Michigan. The color of the leaves change earlier there, and the air turns cooler and crisper much earlier than in Georgia. (Winter also comes much sooner, but we’re going to ignore that fact for now…) Sweatshirt weather, apple cider and donut holes, jumping in piles of leaves… I miss it. Honestly, it’s where I’d be right now if I could. It’s the place I’m most grateful for. It’s where my most of my family lives, it’s where most of my friends are, and it’s where I’m most comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, Georgia is beautiful; the weather is great when it’s not the dead of the summer, the jobs are plentiful where we are, and the schools are good. But it will always come second place to Michigan.
